Lille Art Up! is Lille’s unmissable contemporary art fair. As a matter of fact, it is nothing less than the third contemporary art fair in France. Since its first launch in 2008, the fair has quickly grown. Around 40,000 visitors gather each year at the Grand Palais to enjoy a quality art show. Over 100 French and international galleries participate. For this reason, the audience come not only from France but from the rest of the world as well. Lille Art Up! is organized around a main theme that changes annually. After a focus on textile art in 2021, the new theme chosen this year is “Transparencies and Lights”. A major theme running through the history of artistic practices, the aesthetic issues of transparency concern many disciplines. The 2022 edition of Lille Art Up! invites artists and galleries to give their vision of this issue, which will be rich in multiple perspectives.
