Sarinda Jones (1971, USA) graduated with an AA in Art History from Salt Lake Community College and took further studies at the renowned Pilchuck Glass School, as well as North Lands Creative Glass in Scotland, to become a full-time kiln-formed glass artist. She also sits as a board member on the Salt Lake Arts Council for Public Art.
She primarily makes glass objects and glass installations with simple yet intriguing patterns, often referred to as post-minimalistic. Repetitive use of similar shapes and colours are characteristic for her work. Technically her work is influenced by well known glass artists such as Gilles Bettison and Lino Tagliapietra.
Her art objects are collected internationally but domestically she is also regularly commissioned to create a variety of glass sculptures for private and corporate patrons, including leading international companies. Sarinda Jones was a Niche Award finalist in 2010.
