Little White Wave is a unique contemporary modern sculptural paper relief by renowned Polish-Dutch artist Eliza Kopec. This relief is a typical example of her preferred minimalist abstract geometric vocabulary, formal and strict, but at the same time a monochrome beauty that is very pleasing to the eye. Carefully hand cut round paper elements (matt white on both sides) are mounted into a plain white background, allowing shadows to fill the spaces in between.
Looking at this work of art from upfront mainly shows the basic composition of the paper elements. But when moving to the opposing sides of this work, the full effect of the intriguing composition comes into play. This principle also places this type of work in the long tradition of optical art and kinetic art.
