Squircle I is a unique contemporary modern wall object by Dutch artist Hedy Hempe. This one of a kind object consists of dozens of handshaped goose eggshell fragments mounted on a hand painted matt white panel. Each eggshell fragment is carefully finished with a special matt white pigment. The composition of this work is an ingenious superposition of a circle shaped image on a square based grid. The optical three-dimensionality of the work is further enhanced by using virtual infinity at the edges.
The art work is mounted inside a bespoke plexiglass museum box allowing the three-dimensional work to be seen from all angles, at the same protecting the art work. At the rear of the frame there is a straight bar with which the work can be hung level on the wall.
